Majority of people don't know I've been working yarn for decades, way before all the stores like Joann Fabrics, and many other stores that carried yarn, when craft accessories weren't so easy to find.
Am I ancient nope well I don't think so...I am aging young that's right! All I can say I've been moving hooks and needles for decades...when there was no internet to post anything.
I guess that makes me a bit experience, hey! I still need to locate my grade school photograph of my very first vest. It was a worsted weight yarn in red, I wore a white button down shirt underneath. Boy have times changed! I suppose it's nice to have somewhere to display one's work now. Being a photographer helps with photo set up, not that I really enjoy it...even though I can do it, arg, it just seems like extra work doesn't it? There's a few of my nature shots up there I enjoy that more than posing people. I am so spontaneous posing people just didn't hit me right... I like movement or a spontaneous shot. When I do go on a nature shoot I notice everything right down to a feather on a beach. Can instantly tell if the shot will be worth it. That's what I do during the days it's nice out hit the road with my camera. I have two both are DSLR Canon and Nikon although I prefer the Canon which goes where I go.
So much for that hey...I am currently working on a little something for my granddaughter who will be 5 in May..actually plan on making a few more items a bit boho. Her mom just loves handmade Emma wearing things no one else has which I am so grateful for it keeps me creating...and I love how much she appreciates my work. She has an antique armoire she stores them in for safe keeping. Some are knitted some crocheted. I can do both which makes it even more awesome. My daughter has a collection of blankets I've knitted over the years..she prefers my knitting.
Which do I enjoy more knitting or crocheting...it's pretty darn close, yet knitting, takes the win. I know crocheting has changed a lot which is so nice to see and there are some really nice hooked items. I'm also working on one for me...if you're like me stuff you make for yourself seems to take a backseat..not because of the kids (mine are grown) or for that the grandbabies...it's just there is so much darn cool patterns available it's difficult to stop on one. I don't care what anyone says anyway...we seem to cater to those grandbabies...spoil away! Gosh darn it...I just love it!
