Waterfall Spring Scarf Pattern

The Waterfall Scarf is finished I really enjoyed putting it together... didn't think working sock yarn another way would be so satisfying. Yes I do make socks for my kids and grandkids if anyone is wondering. My daughter has a hard time finding socks in her size it makes it easy for her although it's been awhile since making a pair. 

I really enjoy making new yarn projects not one who likes to repeat the same things which is great for someone as creative as me. I am all over the map with creativity, furniture (yes I've made my own furniture) along with clay, graphic design and so much more...yet I find yarn a constant in my life from crocheting to knitting. My children prefer I knit there items opposed to crochet what I like most is they have place they store what I make as keepsakes when not wearing...or when the grandkids outgrow them. It's really nice knowing they appreciate it so much.

Okay... let's get to the pattern!

WATERFALL SPRING SCARF
English Terms

BEGINNER - EASY  Finished Measurements 36 1/2"long by 5"wide

Materials

* Patons Kroy Sock Yarn 2 balls (just went a tad over on the second, you can make it longer)

or any sock weight yarn will work fine.

*Size F/5 3.75mm hook

*Tapestry Needle

*Gauge- 20 dc = 4"/ 10 rows equal 4"

PATTERN

Row 1: (RS) chain 28 double in the 4th chain from hook...3 chains counts as first double crochet. (24)

Row 2: Chain 3 double crochet in each double across turn.

Row 3: Repeat row 2 turn

Row 4: (open work mesh holes) Chain 5, skip next two dc, dc in the next dc (ch 2, skip next two dc, dc in the next dc) across, turn.

Row 5- 9: Repeat row 2

Row 10: Repeat row 4

Row 11 - 15: Repeat row 2

Row 16: Repeat row 4

Row 17 - 25 Repeat row 2

Continue on as show in repeats until desired length.. there are 6 dc rows before the open mesh holes which is row 2. The pattern is easy to catch on once you get working it.

BORDER

Single crochet around scarf spacing evenly, 3 sc in each corner...turn...sc around, bind off. Weave in all loose ends. Block. I steam block find it much easier. THIS BORDER makes the scarf reversible either side can show.
